Things are looking up! Chris can finally walk again. The flies have disappeared from the kitchen (that probably had something to do with the totally rotten back of potatoes I removed from a cupboard) and the mould has been scrubbed away (thanks to Chris). The spiders had gone, but one has taken up residence again in the hall. This means war. And I am armed with a hoover!
